Planting Instructions: Most dwarf and miniature conifers like to be slightly mounded or on a hill. This is to assure drainage from the roots, especially with heavy rains. Most conifers do not need automatic sprinkler systems. Once established by keeping moist for first growth year, your plants will only need occasional irrigation in years to come. This will be determined by your individual weather patterns. Most, but not all conifers, like a slightly acid soil. This can be obtained by the adding of lime to your soil before planting. Ask your local garden center for assistance.

As you take the plant out of its container to place in your prepared beds, gently squeeze the artificial soil. Do not bare root the plant but shake some of the excess soil off so that the ends of the roots are exposed to the new soil you have prepared. Plant to the same soil line as in the pot and firm into ground with your hand. Water the plant in and surround with a light mulch to cover the bare soil.
